Training
At U.S. Lawns, our commitment to franchisee training for our commercial landscaping businesses opportunity is unparalleled. Because we’ve dedicated so many resources to developing our industry-leading training program, we’re able to work with franchisees from a wide range of backgrounds. As a franchisee, you’ll enjoy our renowned training programs, starting with five days at our home office in Orlando, Florida. There, you’ll learn business secrets and best practices from our leading experts in the commercial landscaping industry. After you return home, the U.S. Lawns Development Team will be on hand to provide additional and ongoing support. Here, we’ll review some of the key topics you’ll learn about during your initial training, as well as some of the ongoing training you’ll receive.
What You’ll Learn
You don’t have to be a business wiz or an experienced landscaper to join the U.S. Lawns team – we work with franchisees from a wide range of backgrounds. If you’re hard working, service oriented, and willing to learn, here’s what our acclaimed commercial landscaping franchise training program can teach you:
- Setting Up Your Business
We’ll work with you to set up your new office with the technology and supplies you need to get to work. To keep things running smoothly, we’ll teach you the basics of financial management (an important part of our business model). Of course, to get any new business started, you’ll need customers — and we’ll show you our time-tested methods of finding and acquiring new customers. We’ll even work with you to establish a business network of your own (a great resource for finding new customers and forging valuable partnerships).
- Getting the Job Done
No landscaping experience? No problem. Our franchisee training for commercial landscaping businesses was designed to teach newcomers to the industry about the basic principles of landscaping. We’ll review topics related to everything from turf to irrigation to plant health to give you a better idea of the services you’ll be providing. We’ll also cover the life of a job (from beginning to end) as well as how to ensure quality control to keep customers coming back.
- Operational Procedures
Many landscaping professionals find that although they might have many satisfied customers, operational procedures are eating away at their time and budget. U.S. Lawns has streamlined our operational procedures to keep things efficient and accurate, saving our franchisees time and money. For instance, we’ve developed a tool that makes it easier than ever to generate accurate estimates and proposals. We also utilize a call center that makes it simple for our franchisees to find new customers and schedule jobs. You’ll learn all about how to leverage these resources (and many others) during your commercial landscaping franchise training.
Ongoing Training
We understand that it will take more than an initial training program to help you master our business model. That’s why we’ve instituted a number of ongoing training opportunities as well. For instance:
- Once a year, every U.S. Lawns owner is invited to an annual conference held in various cities across the country, where we learn together and celebrate our collective success
- Online systems that allow franchisees to access manuals and other training materials as needed
- On-site assistance during your initial operating period to help you implement what you learned in your initial training
- A dedicated support staff that’s ready to answer your questions
These are just a few of the ways we help our franchisees stay up to date on our best practices and operational procedures throughout the life of their business.
