U.S. Lawns Honored as Top 10 Franchise for Veterans

U.S. Lawns was just named a Top 10 franchise for veterans by Military Times Media Group.

This is the second time that the publisher of Army Times, Navy Times, Air Force Times and Marine Corps Times, has recognized us in their “Best for Vets: Franchises” listing. And it’s not the first publication to acknowledge our service to military veterans throughout the years.

Ronnie Christopher of Warner Robbins, GA, served 21 years in the U.S. Air Force. He says he’s not surprised to see U.S. Lawns called a great fit for vets.

“My time in the Air Force made owning a U.S. Lawns franchise easy,” he says. “Many of our systems and processes are also used in the military—like training documents and safety guidelines. It was easy to follow the procedures, which gave me time to focus on other aspects of running my business.”

Military Times selected its top franchises based on these kinds of processes that “cater to veterans and reservists,” as well as financial incentives for vets and the strength of each company’s brand. All of these are reasons vets say they’re attracted to U.S. Lawns, according to Evan Gay of Temple, TX.

“There is no doubt in my mind that the U.S. Lawns franchise model has helped me tremendously in obtaining my goals as a civilian,” he says. “I truly believe that highly motivated soldiers transitioning into civilian life should take a look at the U.S. Lawns franchise.”

Because the U.S. Lawns recruitment mantra is “Improve Your Community. Improve Your Life,” we believe in providing a great entrepreneurial opportunity for our veterans when they return home. As U.S. Lawns owners, these men and women can find personal fulfillment and continue to serve as leaders in their communities.

“Quite simply, we want the skills that veterans have,” says Todd Chapman, Franchise Recruiting Manager. “They’re already trained to be leaders, to put others first, and to follow the systems and processes in place for success. That’s why we’re happy to offer financial incentives to attract them as franchise owners.”

Last year, seven veterans joined the U.S. Lawns franchisee family.

The “Best for Vets: Franchises” list was accompanied by an article on the pros and cons of franchising, as well as what to look for when becoming a franchise owner.
